How “Ghost Murmur” technology aided US rescue mission in Iran

The United States used a previously undisclosed technology known as “Ghost Murmur” to help locate and rescue a downed airman during a high-risk operation inside Iran.

According to reports, the Central Intelligence Agency deployed the system for the first time during the mission after an F-15 fighter jet was shot down. The injured weapons systems officer survived the crash but remained missing for nearly two days in remote terrain while evading capture.

“Ghost Murmur” played a critical role in finding him. The technology reportedly uses advanced quantum sensing to detect the faint electromagnetic signal produced by the human heart. Artificial intelligence then filters out background interference, allowing operators to isolate a single human signature across a vast area.

The system proved especially effective in the Iranian desert, where minimal electromagnetic noise improved detection. Once the airman’s location was identified, U.S. forces launched a complex rescue mission involving special operations units and multiple aircraft, ultimately recovering him safely.

Following the extraction, the wounded airman was transported out of the region for urgent medical care. He is now being treated at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the largest American military hospital outside the United States and a key hub for stabilizing and treating injured service members.

The operation highlights both the growing role of advanced intelligence technology in battlefield rescues and the U.S. military’s rapid medical evacuation system, which moves critically injured personnel from combat zones to specialized care in Europe within hours.
