NCDMB to share Tony Attah’s insights on funding local content initiatives

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has announced that Engr. Tony Attah, Managing Director of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, will be the guest speaker at the next edition of the Nigerian Content Academy Lecture Series.
The lecture is scheduled to hold virtually on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10 a.m., and will focus on “Finding Funds for Effective & Efficient Local Content Initiatives – IPPG Perspective.”
Engr. Attah, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, brings extensive experience from his previous roles as Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited and Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo).
He is recognized for his strategic leadership in advancing indigenous participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, as well as his expertise in sustainable funding models for local content initiatives.
His contributions were recently acknowledged when he received the Local Content Icon of the Year award at the 2025 Champions of Nigerian Content Awards, notably for his leadership in the final investment decision for the NLNG Train 7 project.
The lecture series is part of NCDMB’s ongoing effort to promote capacity building, innovation, and knowledge sharing within Nigeria’s local content ecosystem. The session is expected to engage a broad audience, including industry professionals in oil and gas, energy, and manufacturing, policymakers, finance professionals, local content practitioners, project managers, entrepreneurs, investors, academics, researchers, and students.

The virtual format will feature a keynote presentation by Engr. Attah, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session designed to foster discussion, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.
The lecture aims to provide practical insights on sourcing and managing funding for local content initiatives, highlight opportunities and challenges within the Nigerian content landscape, and encourage strategic thinking and partnerships among stakeholders, financiers, and policymakers.
Through the lecture series, the Local Content Academy seeks to strengthen local capacity, deepen indigenous participation, and support sustainable economic growth by equipping practitioners with the knowledge and tools needed for effective local content implementation.
Previous editions of the series have featured prominent industry leaders, including Engr. Ernest Nwapa, pioneer Executive Secretary of NCDMB; Engr. Austin Avuru, former Managing Director of Seplat Energy and Chairman of AA Holdings; and Mr. Nosa Omorodion, Executive Director at SLB.
The upcoming lecture is positioned as a key platform for advancing discourse and actionable insights on funding and executing local content initiatives, reinforcing NCDMB’s commitment to building an informed and empowered community of practitioners across Nigeria.
