The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) will host the fourth edition of its Quarterly Book Reading Programme, providing a platform for Dr. Dakuku Peterside, former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), to share his insights on leadership and crisis management. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The programme, launched in August 2014, is designed to promote literacy, critical thinking, and knowledge exchange by engaging leading Nigerian authors and thought leaders. Over the years, it has served as a forum for intellectual discourse while supporting NCDMB’s broader commitment to developing human capital beyond the oil and gas sector.

This edition will focus on Dr. Peterside’s book, Leading in a Storm, which explores practical strategies for navigating crises, uncertainty, and institutional change. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the author through a reading session, a question-and-answer segment, and a book signing, offering a direct forum for exchanging ideas on effective crisis leadership and organizational resilience.

Dr. Peterside is widely recognized for his expertise in crisis management, public sector reform, and organizational transformation. With more than 24 years of leadership experience in both public and private sectors, he has led complex institutions through challenging periods and driven reforms to improve accountability and performance. Leading in a Storm was named Book of the Year 2025 by THISDAY newspaper and is regarded as a practical guide for leaders facing complex challenges.

In addition to his professional work, Dr. Peterside serves as an adjunct lecturer at leading business schools, mentoring emerging leaders and sharing insights from his extensive experience. He continues to contribute to leadership thought through research, publications, and advisory roles.

Speaking on the programme, NCDMB’s General Manager of Corporate Communication, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, said the initiative offers a critical space for learning, innovation, and value-driven leadership. He emphasized that the book reading session will allow participants to engage directly with Dr. Peterside’s ideas on crisis management and leadership, helping to strengthen their ability to respond effectively to evolving challenges.

Previous editions of the programme have featured notable Nigerian authors, including former PUNCH editor Mr. Dayo Oketola, who discussed The Catalyst: Nigerian Tech Evolution Through a Journalist’s Lens; Mr. Azu Ishiekwene, Senior Vice-Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Leadership Newspaper, who shared insights from Writing for Media and Monetising It; and HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom, Bayelsa State, author of The Pirates of the Gulf.

Through this session, NCDMB continues to provide a platform for knowledge sharing and leadership development, emphasizing the importance of crisis management and strategic thinking in contemporary Nigerian institutions.
