WIEN sets Tuesday for 2025 Annual General Meeting
Africa’s leading gender equity advocate in the energy sector, the Women in Energy Network (WIEN) has confirmed that its 2025 Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.
The meeting, scheduled for 4 pm, will be held in a hybrid format with the physical session to be hosted at Maison Fahrenheit Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Announcing the plan, WIEN’s Executive Secretary, Engr Asanimo Omezi, said the AGM will offer members a chance to review the Network’s activities over the past year and agree on priorities for the next phase of its work.
The meeting which is scheduled to be led by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mrs Cecelia Aqua-Umoren, remains one of WIEN’s most important governance platforms, allowing members to engage directly with leadership, assess ongoing programmes, and participate in key governance decisions.
President of WIEN, Mrs Eyono Fatai-Williams, is scheduled to lead proceeding with an opening address and deliver the President’s report.
The AGM, it was stated, will also feature appointments of key officials that strengthen the group’s governance structure and review of activities that dominate the business of WIEN. Newly elected officials will also be inaugurated in addition to other statutory items of business scheduled for deliberation.
A media release from WIEN encouraged members to participate fully, either online or in person; stressing that group’s strength depends on the active involvement of its community. It added that the collective wisdom of members is central to the Network’s mission of advancing the role and visibility of women across the energy value chain.
Mrs Fatai-Williams noted that the AGM forms an important platform for strengthening collaboration and advancing the role of women across the energy value chain.
