As the last quarter industry debates continue to shape agenda for the next year, players in the midstream and downstream segments of the energy sector are prepared to engage policy drivers and regulators at the 19th edition of the OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week, popularly called OTL Africa Downstream.
Africa’s leading industry advocacy group, the Women in Energy Network (WIEN) has already declared early intention to use the platform to further engage stakeholders on its programs and activities in mobilizing and priming up the capacity Nigeria’s female population for industry leadership.
Chief Executive Officer, OTL Downstream Development in Africa Ltd./Gte, Joyce Akabogu, declared in a statement to the media that the event would pool players in the downstream oil, gas and energy value chain in Lagos for strategy debates early next week.
Organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority and other strategic partners, the OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week encompasses end-to-end operations and services in midstream and downstream business, incorporating a strategic conference, showcase exhibition and networking events.
In a year of tense markets and strategic plays, this year’s OTL is marked by a rapidly evolving downstream petroleum landscape, with competition taking centre-stage.
Themed Energy Sustainability – Growth Beyond Boundaries and Competition, OTL 2025 will feature high-level engagement on regulatory collaboration, including ministerial and regulator panels involving four West African countries.
According to Akabogu, more than 50 speakers will provide insight into market trends, innovations, opportunities and targets, with anchor themes focused on strategic investment, finance, technology and corporate realignment.
“Focus areas include oil refining, petroleum products trading, shipping, tank storage, logistics, marketing and retail, in addition to LPG, lubricants, petrochemicals, power, financial services and policy.
“The week has also been curated to offer memorable visits to production hubs, including the Dangote Refinery Complex. Other exciting highlights include a range of networking sessions, receptions and social events that promise to give international and local visitors an unforgettable experience of Lagos.
“The OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week has over the past eighteen years, been at the forefront of setting agenda, promoting business and operations in downstream energy markets,” she stated in a media release.
As the continent’s premier showcase platform for downstream energy, delegates and visitors are expected to experience a showcase of innovations, services and technology at the OTL Trade Exhibition, with leading industry brands on hand to engage with the market.
One of the exhibitors at the event, WIEN, has already declared readiness to add value with a showcase of its activities, interventions, policy propositions and support packages for female professionals thawing their growth paths in the energy industry.
Executive Secretary, Engr Asanimo Omezi, stated that WIEN will participate in OTL exhibitions as part of its full cycle engagements with industry stakeholders for the year.
Oracle Intelligence reports that WIEN has participated in all credible industry conferences and forums around the world, including the annual Gas Technology Conference (Gastech) in Milan, Italy; AOW:Energy hosted in Accra, Ghana; Africa Energy Week in Cape Town, South Africa and many other international conferences.
In Nigeria, WIEN has followed debates in the industry with full participation in all conferences and forums in major cities of the country. From NIES Energy Week through the NOG, Gas Investment Forum, NAEC Energy Conference, SPE NAICE and now OTL Downstream; WIEN continues to engage, debate and contribute to policy options that govern the industry.
