A New York judge has sentenced hiphop mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs to four years and two months in prison following his conviction on sexual transportation charges earlier this year.

Judge Arun Subramanian also imposed a fine of $500,000 and urged the 55-year-old to demonstrate real accountability after his release.

“We all have voices, but you have a megaphone,” Judge Subramanian told Combs. “I’m counting on you to make the most of your second chance.”

Diddy was found guilty in July of two counts under the US Mann Act, which prohibits transporting individuals across state lines for sexual activities.

Moments before his sentencing, Diddy broke down in tears and admitted his past behavior was “shameful, disgusting and sick.”

He issued multiple apologies, including one to his former partner, singer Casandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, whom he was captured on video assaulting in a hotel.

“I know I’ll never put my hands on another person again,” he said.

However, Judge Subramanian said a significant sentence was necessary to send a clear message that violence against women carries serious consequences.

He noted that Diddy’s violence, coercion and abuse had devastating effects on his former partners and expressed doubts about whether the music producer would refrain from reoffending.

The court heard that Diddy had organised paid sexual encounters between his girlfriends and male sex workers at marathon sex parties he referred to as “freak-offs.”

Cassie testified that he forced her into “disgusting” sexual acts with strangers hundreds of times during their 10-year relationship.

The judge praised her and another former partner, identified only as “Jane,” for their bravery in sharing “horrific stories” of abuse during the eight-week trial.

“We heard you,” he said. “I am proud of you for coming to court to tell the world what really happened.”

Following his prison term, Diddy will spend an additional five years under supervised release.
