FG increases WAEC, NECO examinations fees to N50, 000 flat, from 2027 session
Federal Government, through the Ministry of Education, has approved an increase and harmonisation of registration fees charged for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations.

The development sets a flat fee of N50,000 per candidate beginning from the 2027 academic session.
NECO and WAEC internal registration fees were previously charged at N30,000 and N27,000 respectively before the increment.
According to the Federal Ministry of Education, the additional revenue to be generated by the increase is aimed at cushioning inflationary operation costs and funding the gradual transition from traditional paper tests to Computer-Based Examinations (CBE).
