In a disclaimer issued by the Commission, NUPRC said it had identified no fewer than 15 fake accounts operating on X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok in the name of the Commission’s chief executive.

The Commission disclosed that the matter has already been reported to the relevant authorities for necessary action.

According to NUPRC, Mrs. Eyesan maintains only one official social media presence, which is a verified LinkedIn account.

The Commission warned members of the public to be cautious and avoid engaging with any unverified accounts claiming to represent the NUPRC chief executive.

“The unscrupulous individuals impersonating the Commission Chief Executive with the intention of defrauding members of the public are hereby warned to desist immediately,” the statement said.

NUPRC added that anyone who chooses to interact with the fake accounts does so entirely at their own risk.
