The initiative is a joint effort between the Research Gateway Professional Institute and the Office of the Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Bishop (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.

The programme aims to equip youths aged 18 and above with Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Certification, preparing them for future opportunities.

The training will focus on imparting valuable skills that can be applied globally.

Key highlights of the training include a Globally Recognized Certification that offers a CPD-accredited certificate, recognized worldwide and valued in various industries.

Successful applicants will undergo a three-week training session from November 3, 2025, to November 29, 2025 and eligibility is strictly tied to residency and civic engagement in Cross River State.

Rev. (Dr.) ThankGod Arong, CEO of the Research Gateway Professional Institute, emphasized the importance of self-reliance.

“Even in the season of sweetness, Research Gateway thought it wise that while you look out for what the government can do for you, you should also look at what you can do to help the government by empowering yourself with a skill in hand.”

The programme is designed to empower youths with skills that can be applied globally, making them more competitive in the job market. The CPD-accredited certificate will enable them to access better job opportunities, both locally and internationally.

The government has assured that successful graduates will be considered for future empowerment programmes, although the specifics of these programmes have not been detailed.

The partnership between the Research Gateway Professional Institute and the Office of the Wife of the Governor demonstrates a commitment to youth development and empowerment in Cross River State.
