Renowned media personality, Arit Ndem, has charged pupils of the Government Primary School Ediba in Calabar, Cross River State, to work hard, trust God and remain upbeat about their future.

Arit who warned the young ones not to allow their foundations to affect their future gave the charge during the presentation of placement fees for 20 deserving students of the institution.

The presentation is an annual empowerment initiative for pupils in public primary schools to mark her birthday.

According to her, ” Don’t allow your foundation to affect your future. Work hard, trust God and always remain upbeat about your future.

“Put more effort in what you are doing. Life is about favour. I’m here to celebrate with you and motivate you to succeed despite your beginnings”, she said.

She said she decided to empower these pupils because she was raised in a primary school and succeeded despite a very challenging foundation.

“I decided to pay placement fees to pupils annually because I was raised in primary school.

“This is my little way of thanking God, giving back to the society and also share the little I have with people who are starting their educational pursuits the way I did”, she said.

She said having lost her dad at a tender age, her mom enrolled her in public primary school, but they have succeeded irrespective of their challenging education foundation.

In her remarks, Eunice Ethothi, the head teacher at the school welcomed the intervention.

She said it’s not easy for most of these pupils to pay the placement fee and the gesture will help salvage the future of the deserving pupils.

She added that some of the beneficiaries were selected based on their brightness and commitment to learning and challenged other members of the society to emulate this gesture.

One of the beneficiaries Beauty Archibong, thanked God and the donor for giving her a lifeline to continue her educational pursuit.

Gift Sylvanus also said the assistance has made a difference as she was at the brink of dropping out of school.
