UK govt opens applications for 2025 Chevening Scholarship

Government of the United Kingdom has opened applications for the Chevening Scholarships for 2025.

Chevening is the UK Government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations.

The scholarships support one-year taught master’s degrees at UK universities for individuals with demonstrable potential to become future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion formers.

Chevening Scholars come from over 160 countries and territories worldwide; and there are over 60,000 Chevening Alumni around the world who comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.

The High Commission in Abuja declared in a statement to Oracle Intelligence that the opportunity to submit scholarship applications  to study in the UK may close on October 7, 2025.

The programme offers fully funded master’s degrees at UK universities to individuals who are ready to lead positive change in their home countries and around the world.

Chevening has, for more than 40 years, attracted hundreds of thousands of applications from individuals who can clearly demonstrate outstanding leadership, influence, and networking skills through compelling, evidence-based examples.

Head of The Scholarships Unit at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Emma Hennessey,stated that prospective candidates can assess whether they are ready to present a competitive application.

Since the programme started in 1983, over 60,000 professionals have advanced their careers through Chevening, demonstrating the UK’s commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow.
