The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited has announced the end of the tenure of Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku in the leadership of its Corporate Affairs Division, and subsequent appointment of Mrs. Angela Yasmin Heymann as the new General Manager for the unit.

Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku officially concluded his tenure on June 30, 2026, after more than five years of service to WAPCo, during which he provided strategic leadership to the Corporate Affairs function and played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s stakeholder relations and corporate communications framework.

During his time at WAPCo, Dr. Doku made significant contributions to corporate policy development, stakeholder engagement and internal communications. He earned widespread recognition for his commitment to staff welfare, his collaborative and inclusive leadership approach, and his efforts to promote professionalism throughout the organisation.

Beyond his formal responsibilities, Dr. Doku served as a mentor to many employees and was instrumental in deepening relationships with stakeholders across WAPCo’s operational jurisdictions, helping to reinforce the company’s reputation as a key player in the regional energy sector.

In a statement, WAPCo expressed its appreciation for Dr. Doku’s dedication and invaluable contributions to the organisation, while wishing him success in his future endeavours.

Following his departure, WAPCo’s Board of Directors has appointed Mrs. Angela Yasmin Heymann as General Manager, Corporate Affairs, with effect from July 1, 2026.

Mrs. Heymann brings more than three decades of experience spanning the energy, finance and public sectors. She is widely regarded as an accomplished legal and governance executive with extensive expertise in corporate governance, regulatory strategy, compliance management and board advisory services.

Throughout her career, she has led complex commercial negotiations, contributed to the development of regulatory frameworks, and advised boards of state-owned enterprises. Her professional experience also encompasses the structuring of high-value financing transactions, cross-border agreements and major infrastructure projects.

Mrs. Heymann has built strong institutional relationships across the public sector and has worked closely with key government and regulatory institutions, including the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission and the Ghana Grid Company Limited.

She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Banking and International Finance from University College London, a Qualifying Certificate of Law (BL) from the Ghana School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Ghana.

According to WAPCo, Mrs. Heymann’s appointment underscores the company’s commitment to strong corporate governance, effective stakeholder engagement and sustainable business growth. The company expressed confidence that her wealth of experience and leadership capabilities will support the advancement of its strategic priorities across the West African energy landscape.
