Barely weeks after the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) had ordered Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in the country to discontinue their airtime and data borrowing offers to customers nationwide, checks by the Oracle Intelligence, Friday, showed that two of the telecommunications firms; Glo and Airtel have resumed the offer.

Although the actual date of resumption is not known, checks on other network platforms like MTN continued to indicate otherwise.

The FCCPC had cited breaches to its Digital, Electronic, Online or Non-Traditional Consumer Lending (DEON) Regulations 2025, last March and subsequently directed all MNOs to halt the data and airtime lending to customers package with immediate effect.

While reports were rife, Friday, of a court ruling halting further enforcement of the FCCPC regulations, however, neither Glo nor Airtel has yet to issue an official notice on the resumption of the offer to its customers.

The telcos had reportedly approached the law court seeking legal interpretation and further challenging the disputed FCCPC regulation on the popular data and airtime advance offers to their consumers.
