Former Special Adviser  to the Cross River State governor Senator Ben Ayade on Cocoa Development and Control  Ntufam Dr. Oscar Ofuka, has appealed for an end to conflicts in the cocoa sector, urging parties to let God guide the industry.

Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony at the Presbyterian Church, Bendeghe-Ekiem, Etung LGA, Ofuka called for unity, saying he’s forgiven those who opposed him.

Ofuka, cleared of charges related to the Government Cocoa Estate by a Cross River State High Court on November 20, 2025, attributed his survival to God and urged supporters to back Senator Bassey Otu’s administration.

He stated that his struggles stemmed from securing royalty payments for Etung people, saying, “I stood firm for the people of Etung and secured royalty for them, with no personal interest.”

Ofuka announced plans to complete a police station he started and affirmed that cocoa royalties have been used to settle debts owed to landlords, adding, “There is enough cocoa for the Bendeghe people.”

He emphasized the church’s role in his strength and urged vigilance against banditry, saying, “We need to rise up and be vigilant. The men of God need to pray.”
