Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has declared that over 1000 missiles fired at the Jewish state by Islamic jihadists from Gaza in Palestine delivered minimal impact, explaining that most of them missed targets.

The Oracle Today reports that Israel’s aerial territories are protected by the US made Iron Dome anti missile system when went into effect during the three day war with Palestinian jihadists last weekend.

The reports by the IDF came after Egypt brokered ceasefire between Israel and Palestine came into effect on Sunday after a three day exchange of fire in which key jihadist leaders were killed in precision bombing.

Overnight Saturday, the IDF stated, forces continued to target high ranking Palestinian Islamic Jihadists (PIJ) commanders, killing the senior terrorist who commanded Gaza Strip southern division, Khaled Mansour.

IDF stated that the strikes also killed Khatab ‘Amasi, Mansour’s deputy and commanding officer of the Rafah Brigade in the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, and Ziad Madalal, a member of the Islamic Jihad leadership.

It explained to the Israeli people that more than 1,000 rockets were fired at the Jewish State from Gaza since the start of Operation Breaking Dawn, adding that over 97 percent of the missiles were intercepted and more than 120 landed within Gaza.

The Egyptian-mediated ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) went into effect at 11:30 pm local time Sunday after further rounds of rocket fire were launched from the Gaza Strip, ending three days of fighting in the coastal enclave.

In a statement late Sunday, Israel’s Public Diplomacy Directorate thanked Egypt for its diplomatic efforts, and pledged to “respond strongly” if the ceasefire was violated by the Islamic Jihad.

The ceasefire deal was praised by US President Joe Biden.

In a statement, Biden affirmed his support for Israel’s right to self-defense and praised the Iron Dome missile defense system.
