Chairman Pinnacle Oil and Gas, Barrister Peter Mba has emerged the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Governorship primary election held in Enugu state on Wednesday.
Mr Mba who hails from Nkanu East LGA of Enugu state was a former Commissioner for finance under the administration of Governor Chimaroke Nnamani
The former Governor of old Anambra state, Chief Jim Nwobodo apparently working for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi had on Tuesday endorsed Peter Mba as the preferred successor of Governor Ugwuanyi.
The primary election that produced Mba was held at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.
The Electoral Panel from National Working Committee of the PDP which conducted the exercise was led by Senator Ambuno Zik Sunday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies were on hand to monitor the exercise.
Prior to the commencement of the election, Senator Ike Ekweremadu reportedly withdrew from the contest.
Other Aspirants who withdrew few hours to the election included: Dr Kingsley Ude, Erasmus Anike, Ifeanyi Nwonye, Gilbert Nnaji, Barr Nwabueze Ugwu, Prof Jehu Onyekwere, Dr Gabriel Ajah, and Engr Beloved Dan Anike.
