As the world engages in debate over the value of the weekend’s meeting between President Donald Trump of the United States and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, one significant outcome of the event remains the unofficial letter from First Lady Melania Trump that holds the Russian leader accountable for the fate of Ukrainian children abducted from their homes by Russian forces.

Melania did not accompany her husband to the security tense meeting in most unusual places in the world; but her concern about the children of Ukaraine who are currently and forcefully assimilated into enemy country resonates from Alaska.

The Oracle Intelligence reports that Melania conveyed the letter through President Trump directly to President Putin, stamping a confirmation that the Russian president is aware that the innocent war victims are not by any means forgotten by mothers around the world.

Our review of reports emerging from Alaska, the place of mutual historical significance between the US and Russia, showed that the expectations that the Kremlin on possible cessation of hostilities did not materialize; leaving Melania’s letter the only powerful impact on Putin at the meeting.

The letter from Melania Trump, details of which are only imagined from available hints, represents the grieving hearts of women and mothers around the world who share in the grief of ongoing slaughter in Ukraine and the impact on children in captured territories who are suspected to being groomed by Kremlin into Russia’s future cannon fodders.

Russia’s abduction of Ukrainian children has been one of the most disturbing issues since the war began.

Institute for the Study of War in the US stated that about 20,000 children mostly from captured territories in Ukraine were captured by invading forces and deported to Russia under the pretext of protecting them from war zone. But Ukraine has consistently reported to the United Nations that the act of forceful deportation of abducted minors to enemy nations amounts to genocide and war crime.

International Criminal Court had in 2023 issued an arrest warrant for Putin, accusing him of war crimes, including abducting Ukrainian children.

The Oracle Intelligence reports however that the UN relies on cooperation of world’s most powerful countries to punish culprits of international crime, and the cases Russia and some other nations have consistently proved that the UN has little or no authority over world powers.

Trump’s Alaskan meeting with Putin proves in part that the arrest warrant by the ICC is weak and of little consequence if Putin would travel safely to the United States, shake hands with President Trump, decline all peace proposals on Ukraine and smile home.

Melania who has been influential in pushing Trump to secure peace in Ukraine used the private message to Putin as unconventional emotional appeal to reach the conscience of stone hearted Putin to hazard a chance of influencing his human side.

Whereas analysts agree that the Alaska meeting between the two powerful world leaders failed to achieve the goal of reaching a deal to end Ukraine war, it remains to see how Melania’s letter change the fate of the little citizens of the world who, by now, do not understand the winds blowing apart their lives.

Even President Trump is not impressed by the outcome of the highly publicized meeting watched by global leaders.

“I go home, I tell the first lady: ‘I spoke with Vladimir today. We had a wonderful conversation’. She said: ‘Really? Another city was just hit’.” The convo between Trump and wife pointed to the existing pattern of Russian participation in peace meetings on Ukraine. Putin’s army traditionally launches severe attacks on Ukraine to mock any peace moves brokered by mediators.

Melania, it is reported, has been relentless in pushing subtle efforts to bring Putin to deal table; and her letter is seen as courageous move to engage Putin directly on the war without being confrontational. Ukrainians and some US Republicans have reportedly praised Melania for seemingly influencing Mr Trump to push Putin for peace.

Republican Congressman, Don Bacon, said in an interview after the president threatened to impose secondary sanctions on Russia last month: “I think we owe Melania some thanks here. Even the president said that his wife reminds him every day that Russia is bombing Ukrainian cities every night,” he continued.

She has also been mustering support for the people of Ukraine whose suffering is underreported by the Western media, including European media outlets that are more engrossed in the Gaza war triggered Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023.

She had mobilized her social media followers to donate to the Red Cross and said it was “heartbreaking and horrific to see innocent people suffering.”

In their reports, the Western media have always missed out this soft and human side of Melania who has always been projected and objectified as classy model befitting the social compliments of a billionaire plutocrat whose political charisma and networks of power have dislodged sitting presidents from the White House.

No longer a prsident’s ceremonial model

In breaking into direct but unofficial communication with Putin, Melania has rewritten her story. She has identified herself as a woman of courage and good conscience: a mother whose heart escapes the comfort of wealth and power to grieve for suffering children.
