Governor-elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has voswed to move the state forward by addressing issues of corruption and underdevelopment.

Senator Adeleke who spoke on Sunday shortly after his declaration of the winner of the 2022 governorship polls, expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their massive support since he ventured into political leadership in the state.

He recounted the massive support with which the people toppled the ruling party’s candidate to elect him senator, noting that his emergence as winner in Saturday’s election was a confirmation of the people’s unshaken support for him.
He promised not to let them down, adding that time for accelerated development would soon come. He expressed his love for the people and gratitude to God for making the Peoples Democratic Party winner in the election.
The Oracle Today reports that Senator Ademola Adeleke contested the Osun State governorship seat on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defying the massive influence of the All Progress Congress (APC) which was alleged to have flooded the voting centers with massive cash to influence voters.
Popular pop artist and voice of the Adelele family, Davido, had taken to Twitter to declare that voters were rejecting cash offers from the APC agents who, he said, were frantically buying votes for the party.
At the end of the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the figures for the first five political with the highest scores, putting Senator Adeleke’s PDP on top with 403,371 votes.
The APC followed with 375,027 votes to come second in the race. Accord Party came third with 4, 515 votes while the Labour Party which is making its first nationwide spread-out came fourth with 2,729 votes. The SDP came fifth with 515 votes.
Senator Adeleke stated that he would introduce integrity, steadfastness and accountability in political governance of the state. He stated that corruption would be gone during his reign in the state.
He said there was no other way to appreciate the support he received from the people in 2018 and 2022. He said the electoral victory is for the people of Osun State.
