Police in Anambra State have arrested a 27 year-old woman, Ozioma Orakwe for allegedly killing her uncle, Martin Orakwe, 75.
The arrest of the suspect by the Anambra Police Command, followed a suspicion that the deceased who was said to have committed suicide, may have been killed.
The deceased body was seen hanging on a rope tied round his neck in a video that went viral on social media on Thursday.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said, “preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Orakwe had a cut on his head with marks of violence all over his body”.
It was further gathered that before his death, he had a disagreement, allegedly with the suspect, which resulted to a fight.
“Police operatives have recovered the body of the deceased and the suspect has also made useful statement that is helping in the ongoing investigation after which the case shall be charged to court after a conclusive investigation,” Ikenga said.
