Trial of leader of the pro-secession group in the South East region, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) resumed, Friday, at the Federal High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja with Justice Binta Nyako presiding.
Kanu who is standing trial on an amended 15-counht charge of treason, terrorism, arms possession and otherspreferred against him by the Nigerian government, is currently under court-ordered custody of the department of State Security (DSS).
At the last hearing of the court, counsels to Kanu, led by Mike Ozekhome SAN, had presented objections to the amended charges to which Kanu also pleaded not guilty.
Already, security agents around the Federal High Court in Abuja had early Friday blocked all roads leading to the court premises making it almost impossible for people to have easy access.
